IN SEARCH OF THE PRESENT
HOORAY! I am having an art show!
I was lead to this wonderful opportunity by divine guidance, moving from one thing to another, with my art show being the natural progression.
I’ve always been creative, with use of colors, decorating my home and making things. Photography has been one of my long time loves, from the time I was a child. I was always the one in my family taking pictures, documenting as I went along. Looking back, I realize that there would only have been a very small amount of photos of our childhood, had I not been interested. Instead, we have a myriad of photo memories captured on my Kodak Brownie.
In 2005 I started doing cut and paste collages, which I truly loved, it was the beginning of me being able to express myself confidently on paper, without having the ability to draw. It was then the journey of going to Santa Monica College to study Photoshop, computer software that enabled me to manipulate my images and found images. These classes and the ability I gained to use this computer application has opened up a whole new world for me.
Everything has aligned nicely for me. In today’s world, there are so many sources for images, textures, workshops and digital art communities readily available to tap into in cyberspace, and information arrives at my computer terminal at anytime of the day or night, without a delivery charge. IMAGINE THAT!
My husband is a computer specialist and teacher; this has been so very beneficial during these years of active learning and experimenting. I am so grateful to him for his assistance and encouragement. I am also grateful for the quickly advancing technology. In my attempt to keep up, it has been essential for me to keep sharp, using my new skills and computer logic, in order to be able to use all of the latest and greatest things that come onto the market.
Please come to my show, “In Search of the Present”.
